Escort Live Radar App Reviews

I did my review in bullet point style. The App has huge potential but needs the fixes below as well as those noted by other reviewers. Unreliable Bluetooth connectivity to MAX 360. Very frustrating to have to restart the App and power down the Max 360 to get a connection, and not consistently. Posted speed limits missing for LA State highways. Needs to auto mute the app and maybe the detector during phone calls. Graphic layout needs to be fixed, certain portions of main screen on "dashboard" view overlap and obscure each other. The sound schemes of the App seem to overlap the sounds from the MAX360, I dont need both devices blasting an alert, one is enough.

I have only been a subscriber for a week or so, but I’ve used the app for a long time, including back when Waze reports came across to us. The first thing that needs to be done is to give us a night mode for both the map and alerts. Escort has talked about doing this for over a year. I’m not sure what the limitation is. We’re still waiting. The second urgent thing that needs to be fixed is the size of locked out alert frequencies. The gray box for lockouts has the frequency in a tiny font in the lower right corner. If you’re like me and know K band frequencies of local falses, but worry about locking out a legitimate threat, being able to read those K band frequencies is important and I don’t need to waste time squinting. Give us the frequency in large numbers against that gray box. The third bug I’m dealing with is whether or not changes made to the radar detector settings via the EL app actually take effect. Enabling or disabling a segment of Ka may not affect the detector’s actual settings until after a power cycle (turn detector off and back on again). I noticed this recently with TSR. Lane assist K band punched through when it should not have. I had TSR disabled in a rural area and flipped it on upon entering the city and moments in, a Cadillac sent me a wonderful 24.080 alert. TSR usually cuts that out pretty well on my Redline. The only thing we can do at this point is power cycle the detector after changing a setting which is disappointing to say the least. The last bug worth mentioning is that I’ve seen a few instances where Ka will be reported with a frequency of 0.000 GHz. I’m not sure why the frequency shows up like that or whether the alert is real because my Redline does not actually display an alert. There is a landscape rotation bug when going into app settings. Hitting back sends the screen back into portrait mode. The “Police Reported” overlay when using the Live cord is also in portrait when in landscape view. At least usage in my area is increasing to the point where I know I’m contributing to the system. Escort Live is ok, but bugs have gone on too long to the point where users ought to ask Escort Radar to invest more in their developers.

After updating detector last week it no longer recognizes position from phone. Dropped and reconnected Bluetooth to no avail. Disappointed!

Everything that was supposed to fixed is now not working. It worked great up until the update. Very disappointed!

Love this app!

Before I bough this radar detector I had a Cobra I radar and let me tell you that is a great app because it was very accurate telling you the "hot spot" even the map is more accurate and has more feature like plan a route, see traffic status is like google map for say any gps app. I hope like some other people to fix this app. In other words, is not that good that your competitor. Also for the price that we pay for it is not worth the money. I was expecting with the new version to change the configurations of the app but is steel the same crap no ingenuity at all. In other words dont be cheap. We spend money on this app because we dont have any choice. But if someone develops an app that get compatible with escort max 360 I will consider move to the If it better than this one of course. So think about it and dont be cheap because if we buy this radar that is no cheap neither, we are expecting that the app comes with state of the art features because at the end we have to pay for it too. And is not neither cheaper as well. I hope you read this snd think about it. Or if some app developers can do a better app than this one let us know I believe that must of us will be glad to move on.

Rarely updates. Never actually deletes old police traps I have created.

Excellent app! I am using the MAX 360 radar and it is interacting trough the Bluetooth interface with the Live App. Havent had a single crash or failure in the app at all. I can also listen to my music while in the app! Also, I DO get aural alerts to my helmet via Bluetooth when Im in my motorcycle! Except job from its developers! 5 STARS!!

Update this app for the love of god make it more current

Needs work still, app crashes throughout the day, why does it tell me about red light cameras when Im in the highway. Should mute when on a call, please.

I downloaded the app, plugged the Escort in, and within 2 hours I wanted to strangle the app developer and return the Escort, but murder gets me life and its easier to get a refund from the Bunny Ranch. All the bad reviews on here are correct, about the app, not the Bunny Ranch.

I dont know where to start, the app has so many issues. Bluetooth does not work - impossible to connect with the SmartCord / the Detector. Registration - they tell you to use the password from your product registration, yet when registering your product, THERE IS NO PASSWORD REQUIRED. The UI is still from early iPhone days, before iOS4. Advice to Escort - dont outsource your app development to "my buddy Joe makes apps" agency. Dont let your hardware engineers write software for apps.

In general I really like this app. No its not a good map, no it doesnt show traffic well, no it doesnt give directions... But thats what Google Maps app is for. And this thing has saved my butt many times over the last few years. Theres a large community, and I probably would throw any detector out the window that didnt have AutoLearn.

Besides being similar to Waze, it has less features, and doesnt always link to my passport max2. This app really stinks. Too bad Escort can build decent products but lateley they have not been making decent app so the products are limited. Why a subscription fee for live? Better off buying a Radenso with lifetime free database. Good by Escort you lost a long time customer due to greedy subscription fees with a less than mediocre app. Max 360 had big potential, get the Valentine 1 its support is way better.

So I paid for a month of service ($5.00) to see how well the app worked. The biggest problem is that as far as I can tell, there are very few people using this app. Without other users, its useless at warning you of police radar or laser. Cobra offers a better app for free, so its not surprising that there are many, many more users of that app in my city. Escort- Learn from your competition: Give away the app or expect to become irrelevant in the marketplace. It actually kind of boggles me to see someone charging $5.00/ month for a proprietary app to be used with a product that costs at least $300. Gouging your customers means no more customers

Annoying false warnings from drivers ahead. Limited info in rural areas. Should be a free app.

This would be a nice app if location services option was only when the app is running. Why do I need this app always running location services even if the app is closed? I dont, so this app is useless.

Since the 9.3 update to iOS, the app no longer sees the detector. I can pair my MAX 2 to the phone, no problem. Its just that the app doesnt see the detector! Very annoying as I drive 400 miles round trip every weekend to see my family. Fix the connectivity issues and the app crashing and Ill give it 5 stars.

Just purchased a Max 360 radar and this app will not connect to the radar. Phone connects just fine. App can see the radar but refuses to connect to it. The max 360 has so many nice features/settings that I would love to set through the app. Would like to give this app a higher rating but cant. Please update the app.
